Trail House at Enchantment Resort

Project Overview
Sedona, AZ
Set on 70 acres of panoramic natural terrain, Enchantment Resort is known for its majestic views, award-winning spa, and expansive outdoor program. Expanding guests’ options, the resort’s brand-new Trail House is the epicenter for activity and adventure. Built from the ground up, the 4,100 square foot multi-faceted activity center elevates the resort’s outdoor adventure program. Trail House offers retail space for professional-grade equipment and accessories, a bike sales and rental shop, and a discovery and education center.
Trail House’s youth education component welcomes classrooms from local elementary schools for annual field trips to coincide with their geography, flora, fauna, and physics curricula.

How We Helped
The understanding of design intent was crucial to project success. The sheer amount of custom finishes used in the new, multifaceted activity center required an immense amount of attention to detail, organization, and regular communication with the design team. Beyond the construction components, we understood the comprehensive vision for the project was more than merely a new accompaniment to the resort, but rather a novel destination to enhance not only the guest experience but to create a recreation and educational destination for visitors and locals alike. Alongside the design team, we set forth to pay tribute to the history and unique setting of Enchantment Resort.
To set the tone, we challenged the project team to reposition their approach toward the project; we asked the project team to think of the project as a piece of artwork with design elements that required delicacy and respect.

Client Story
Trail House at Enchantment Resort
Although a relatively small building, Trail House at Enchantment Resort is a project filled with custom details that required a great deal of coordination between the design and construction teams throughout the project. PWI Construction understood the vision of the project and went the extra mile to help bring that vision to life.
Halfway through the project, we ran into the COVID-19 pandemic which halted any trips the design team could take to the site for contract administration. Through many virtual walkthroughs via zoom and countless site photos, PWI Construction was able to keep the design team up-to-date and involved during the most critical phases of the project.
