To support, PWI Construction held a school supply and hygiene drive in partnership with Las Vegas-based Project 150 and the nationwide Kids in Need Foundation. Led by our 2020 Culture Committee, employees from across the nation came together to donate new school supplies and hygiene products as part of the three-week drive.

Supporting students in a time of need

This year, the start of the school year was unlike any we’ve seen with many schools moving from in-classroom instruction to online learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the shift, the need for school supplies and goods was ever-present.
We were drawn to these great organizations as a result of the exceptional service they provide to our communities.
“Many of our employees call Las Vegas home. Supporting Project 150’s mission of providing support services to homeless and displaced high school students made perfect sense. In addition to gathering collections for Project 150, we wanted to partner with a nationwide agency as our employees and projects can be found coast-to-coast. Through local KinderCare facilities, we supported the Kids in Need Foundation,” explains Talent Culture Manager Kristin Price.
Founded in 2011, Project 150 offers support and services to homeless high school students in the Southern Nevada area so they can stay in school through graduation and build a successful future. Our collection drive solicited for items of greatest need – school supplies and hygiene products.
Kids In Need Foundation helps children in K-12 schools around the country get the school supplies they need to be successful in the classroom. Employees donated new supplies to local KinderCare Learning Centers and had the option to purchase a brand-new backpack filled with school supplies online. These supplies made their way to the Kids In Need Foundation that serves more than 200,000 teachers and 5,000,000 students annually.
PWI Construction raised more than $1,700 in donations, serving more than 70 students in need.
