PWI Construction volunteers for Day of Caring

At our Las Vegas headquarters, a group of dedicated team members generously volunteered for the United Way of Southern Nevada’s 9th Annual Day of Caring. On September 13th, our team came together at the Lutheran Social Service of Nevada to support the assembly of food boxes for minors experiencing food insecurity. The volunteers worked diligently, sorting various food items into individual boxes and assisting with the onsite food distribution efforts.

PWI Construction was one of forty community partners actively engaged in this citywide event. Together, these partners completed 44 volunteer projects. The collaborative efforts of these partners and volunteers resulted in nearly 900 individuals contributing over 2,800 hours of service to our community.

 

We are incredibly proud and thankful for our team members’ compassionate and generous spirit—their dedication and commitment to positively impacting the community where we live, and work is truly inspiring.

David Yurman opens at Easton Town Center

American luxury jewelry brand David Yurman recently announced the opening of its latest boutique at Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio. PWI Construction completed the brand’s tenant improvement project. The boutique expands the brand’s presence and showcases the next generation of David Yurman’s store design, blending elegance and modernity.

Upon entering the boutique, clients are greeted by dark Cardoso and pale Bardiglio marble slabs accentuating the floor. The boutique’s casework, crafted from oak and marble, is complemented by luxurious fabric panels.

Dominica Garza, the Director of Brand and Client Relations at PWI Construction, expressed, “We take pride in serving as the general contractor for David Yurman’s new location at Easton Town Center. This project underscores our extensive experience, with nearly 40 project engagements for the jewelry brand across over 20 cities domestically, reflecting the enduring partnership we share with this esteemed luxury jewelry brand.”

Earlier this year, PWI Construction also provided tenant improvement services for the new David Yurman boutique at The Grove in Los Angeles.

PWI Construction recognized as a ‘Top Construction Company’

PWI Construction has once again secured a spot on the prestigious ‘Top Construction Companies’ list by Hotel Management for the twelfth consecutive year. Hotel Management, a highly respected magazine in the hospitality industry, is known for providing valuable insights into critical issues and emerging trends that shape the business landscape.


Hotel Management’s annual list is the result of comprehensive surveys that cover various segments of the hospitality industry, ranging from design firms to multiunit owners and developers. The survey takes into account hotel construction projects completed in the current year as well as those anticipated to be finished in the following year, offering a comprehensive overview of the industry’s top performers.

Dominica Garza, the Director of Brand and Client Relations at PWI Construction, expressed her appreciation, stating, “Hotel Management serves as a crucial resource for hotel owners, developers, and operators. It is a great honor for PWI Construction to be recognized as a leader in hospitality construction through our inclusion on the annual Top Construction Companies list.”

David Yurman opens at Los Angeles’ The Grove

The third Los Angeles location took design cues from the brand’s flagship in Paris, incorporating bronzed iron gates and herringbone-patterned stone and marble flooring. Positioned in West Hollywood, this new location expands the brand’s presence on the West Coast.

 

Upon entering the new space, customers will encounter the brand’s next-generation store design. The entrance is defined by bronzed iron gates inspired by the Paris Flagship, reflecting the herringbone motif on the store’s floor and ceiling. The interior features contrasting stone and marble flooring, along with dedicated heritage wall and millwork, creating a monochromatic palette that showcases the brand’s collections. Custom pendants and mid-century furniture complete the space, providing a residential feel and an intimate experience.

 

Dominica Garza, PWI Construction Director of Brand and Client Relations, expressed, “We’re proud to be the general contractor for David Yurman’s new location at The Grove. This project represents our 38th engagement with the jewelry brand, spanning over 20 cities domestically. We value our longstanding relationship with the luxury jewelry brand.”

The brand opened its flagship store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills in 2006, followed by a store in Glendale at The Americana at Brand retail center in 2014.

PWI Construction is proud to be ranked in the Phoenix Business Journal’s Book of Lists: Largest Phoenix-Area Commercial Building Contractors. The Phoenix Business Journal’s weekly lists, compiled annually in the Book of Lists publication, provide an in-depth look at the largest and most influential players defining local economies.

 

Sixty-two commercial contractors were ranked by 2023 Arizona billings for buildings built in Arizona, total billings for buildings built anywhere, the number of employees local and companywide, top local executive, and year founded locally.

 

“We at PWI Construction are pleased to be recognized as one of the largest commercial contractors in Arizona. Our firm was founded nearly 40 years ago as a local homebuilder right here in Arizona. We’re honored to continue to work with some of the best developers, operators, architects, and designers on premier destinations in The Grand Canyon State,” explains PWI Construction Director of Brand & Client Relations Dominica Garza.

Giving back in 2023

Every year, our Culture Committee works together to organize team-building and community outreach events throughout the year.

We are grateful for the contributions made by all our team members last year. Thanks to their generosity and the leadership of the 2023 Culture Committee, we significantly impacted the communities where we live and work, while also having some fun together. We donated more than $3,400 in donations and monetary funds, and we volunteered more than 30 hours of our time. We appreciate their support and contribution in making PWI Construction a place where we can continue to make a difference in our communities.

Women in Construction Week 2024

We at PWI Construction are participating in the Women in Construction Week, held from March 3-9, 2024, in partnership with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). The aim of this observance is to recognize women’s important contribution to the construction industry, highlight the opportunities available for women in the industry, and draw attention to the increasing role of women in construction. This week-long event will help NAWIC fulfill its mission of empowering and elevating women in construction to achieve greater success.

Women in Construction Week, also known as WIC Week, is a perfect opportunity to celebrate and support women in the construction industry. NAWIC introduced the first WIC Week in 1998, and it has since grown and evolved each year. Many of our local chapters organize WIC Week events, which can include visiting high schools to give presentations, hosting job site tours, organizing luncheons, and virtual events.

This year’s theme, ‘Keys to the Future,’ emphasizes the strength, knowledge, and vital role that women play in shaping the future of the construction industry.

WIC Week provides NAWIC’s thousands of members across the country with a chance to raise awareness of the opportunities available for women in construction and highlight the growing role of women in the industry.

Thanksgiving Food Drive a Success

Our team in Las Vegas organized a Thanksgiving Food Drive to support The Salvation Army of Southern Nevada this past month. Held at PWI Construction’s corporate headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada, the drive was led by the firm’s 2023 Culture Committee, a group of employees who plan and organize community giving, service, and team-building events throughout the year. Thanks to the compassion and generosity of our team members, The Salvation Army of Southern Nevada brought warmth and nourishment to countless families during this holiday season.

 

“Our team members never fail to amaze me. They continually come together to support our communities,” Director of Brand Dominica Garza explains.

The Salvation Army relies on drives like this to feed over 1,000 families during the holiday season.
