Volunteering to end hunger
Mar 31, 2022
Led by the firm’s Culture Committee, a volunteer group comprised of PWI Construction employees charged with planning and organizing community outreach and employee engagement activities throughout the year, PWI Construction teamed up with Three Square Food Bank to help end hunger.
Through volunteer support and the help of community partners, including non-profit and faith-based organizations, schools, and feeding sites throughout Southern Nevada, Three Square serves people who are food insecure.
In addition to hosting a virtual food drive, PWI Construction employees volunteered at Three Square packing and labeling canned food. Thanks to the generosity of the firm’s employees and network of family and friends, the virtual food drive brought in more than $150, the equivalent of 462 meals for our food-insecure neighbors, while the onsite group of volunteers labeled 1,200 tuna cans in preparation to go to families who are food insecure and hungry in the community.
Established in 2007, Three Square is Southern Nevada’s only food bank and the area’s largest hunger-relief organization. Its mission is to provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community. Learn more about Three Square at www.threesquare.org.
