The property’s three floors of rooms are built into the hillside, dropping into a central courtyard where the pool is located – Hollywood’s only boutique hotel with a saltwater pool. Hotel Ziggy Conversion
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA
More than a renovation, the reinvention of The Grafton Hotel into the new Hotel Ziggy required a property-wide approach to re-position the space into the new music-inspired concept. The transformation took an emphasis on rock ‘n’ roll history with a nod to David Bowie, aka Ziggy Stardust, the hotel’s namesake. The music lover’s paradise features musical memorabilia, photos, lyrics, and other remembrances of the rock icons who have lived, visited, or otherwise left their mark on the Strip.
A retractable glass garage door partitions one end of the lobby, creating the new, flexible event space dubbed Backbeat, which offers a venue for shows and concerts. Walls were demolished to achieve the wide-open feel of the lobby. As part of the re-vamp, guests check in at the bar, an extension of the ground floor casual dining concept B-Side Pizza. The pizza joint offers a custom pick-up window, allowing locals to order to-go in style.
The new hotel offers decked-out, fully-renovated rooms and suites and poolside guest rooms that double as VIP cabanas.
