Women in Construction Week Employee Spotlight: Sadie Bailey
Mar 2, 2020
This week marks Women in Construction Week (March 1-7, 2020) hosted by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). The focus of the observance is to highlight women as a visible component of the construction industry and raise awareness of the opportunities available for women in the construction industry and to emphasize the growing role of women in the industry.
In recognition of Women in Construction Week, it’s our honor to introduce you to a few of the women making it happen at PWI Construction.
Women in Construction Spotlight: Meet Sadie
Sadie has been in construction for more than 17 years and is located at our corporate headquarters in Las Vegas as a member of our Estimating. We sat down with Sadie to learn more about how she got into construction and her experience in the field.
What do you enjoy most about the construction field?
I love the fast pace construction offers and the different types of projects. No matter how long you have been in the industry it seems there is always something new to learn so it consistently stays challenging.
What’s your favorite construction-career related memory?
I have been lucky to be a part of so many interesting projects in my career and the best memories are always the interactions with clients and delivering their vision.
What advice do you have for other women interested in construction?
Why is construction a great career field for women to pursue?
Women bring balance to the construction trade. We tend to be more detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking which is ideal for this field. As the field becomes more balanced between men and women, the knowledge and skills women can bring to the trade are becoming more appreciated and allow us to break barriers to truly create dynamic teams within the industry.
